If it's a kit, beveling could cause you fitting problems. Otherwise, you could cut the deck pieces oversize and trim them when mounted. If the kit pieces are wide enough (test fit of course) you could still bevel and trim.
However, beveling will give you a very sharp edge that glass cloth will not go over smoothly, giving you air pockets. As well your knuckles and other things will not like the sharp edge.
The best advise I can think of is to change your attitude and decide you like the stripe and believe that it enhances the beauty. :-)
