I've built a few (more or less) Greenland style, hard chine S&G kayaks - and have come to like them over rounded-hull strippers for their manouverability and general seaworthiness. I have had the chance to paddle along with some really beautiful strip kayaks, ...and seen them tip around and/or having great problems with waves and strong winds. AND..I've fallen in love with the looks and promised qualities of the Baidarka. I realize that a real Baidarka (probably) should be skin-on-frame - and I know, of course - that the design has been adapted into the stripbuilding line, by Laughing Loon. BUT: I would like to explore my aquired skill in S&G building before venturing into the totally new field of skins and frames, and even before starting a strip project. SO: is there anybody who can lead me to a good starting point of a S&G (preferably single) Baidarka? Has anybody (succesfully!) made a S&G Baidarka?
