Ralph,
The inside seam of my Pygmy Coho is filleted and taped 2/3 of seam length, not just a bead of epoxy. I felt the "syringe-on-a-stick" method worked quite well. I even lengthened the stick to reach all the way to the ends and was able to make a very nice bead along the entire seam.
I agree that its very important to overlap the deck cloth.
