Hi Phill,

I asked nearly the same question a while back. For mounting, Andy Gere had a solution that worked very well for me. Below is a link to the thread.

I used strips of redwood to make my mount. I needed to make it 2 strips thick so that I had enough wood to sand away to match the curve out near my front hatch.
