I agree with Nolan that wire twisters can be 'too much' of a tool. It's possible to cut into the wood more than is desired. On the other hand, with a bit of practice I found it to be a great help. For $20 for the smaller sizes, you can't go too far wrong by trying one out. Some models have a built in spring so it doesn't flop around until you're ready to pull.
If you're uncertain about it, try it out on the hull where you won't see it when you're in the water. You can always go back to vise grips or whatever on your deck work.
I found it to be easy to control. Also, for small adjustments in the panels, I could untwist a bit, make the adjustment, then re-twist without doing any more damage. I'll be using it on my next boat.
