In Response To: Planing sheers on Ches 17' (John Stys)

Does anyone have experience attaching the deck without using the nails? Do the nails add to the strength or are they used solely as a helping hand? If the deck was placed on the epoxy and then the kayak was "taped" using filament tape would this suffice? Thanks.
