HI The comparsion is a bit subjective but ther is more suface area than a convetional paddle so the bite is much the same, it is much easier on the shoulders but does not excelerate as fast as the sport paddle but have plenty of power and lots of hand positions.Build one, IMHO it is better than the sport paddles I have tried and easy to make.
