It is quite common to set up two routers to cut the cove and bead in one pass. It takes more careful set up than doing one edge at a time.

The 3/4" is an overall dimension based on the fact that most boards start 3/4" thick. After the cove and bead is milled they will still be about 3/4". If you use thinner boards such as 11/16", obviously the strips will be narrower.
