I have the same exact truck-cap setup. I went to local salvage yard and bought the roof rack from a ford aerostar van. I installed the rails (tracks) on the cap. I then made a hardwood rack(similar to a Yakima steel rack) with the towers setting on the rails and are adjustable front to back like original. One set of Yakima saddles are mounted on the front and a v shaped plywood saddle covered with foam and carpet are at the rear. All I need to load is place bow on the rear saddle and slide along till reaching the front saddle.
This arrangement is very secure and looks great without ruining the cap. The rest of the Aerostar rack fits on the rails when the hardwood rack is removed, The whole arrangement looks factory installed and I get many favorable comments. I spent about $25 for the roof rack and the hardwood The yakima saddles I already had and get switched amoung 3 vehicles.
