Good to hear, cuz I was hoping to transfer the coaming stress of entering, away from the deck and sheer junction. Fastening to the hull can make a solid support for weight as my butt approachs the cheek plates. Nick points out that each design decision can have global ramifications. Often, I just read and absorb, hesitate to comment at times, my thoughts are only conjecture, as that stage of the boat is still in my head. The construction is of 1/8 th doorskins, not recommended, but the first boat is to be a lily pad and swamp slitherer, so light weight is important for roof to water travel. I keep in mind that if I stray from standard wisdom in construction practices, this is fraught with danger. Clearly, there are knowledgeable minds for the newbie to heed. It is invigorating to wander through P.J.'s mind and see the collection of boats he dreams up. TNX for inspiration, Scotty
