Woody; I just got some great roof rack "feet", called "Quick and Easy". They are solid cast aluminum, and have a cam lock into the rain gutter. Short stainless steel gutter sections are available to attach to your roof if not already equipped. You can buy their bars, or provision is made to bolt (3/8" bolts- SOLID) on your own bars, made from perhaps aero-shaped 2x4 or I will use pieces of oak. Set of four for ~ $64 I bought them through Gaetano at the Small Boat Shop in Norwalk, CT. Also may be available from Perception. The boat support forms, which originally started this thread, will be made of dowel cored pipe insulation, mounted at the angle of the Greenland hull. Yakima and Thule make some nice stuff, but I like to prioritize the cash flow and make as much as possible in the home shop. (cheap) TNX, Scotty (note: it occurred to me that keel and chine pads would make for less wind resistance than athwart cradle pieces... Thoughts?)
