The amount of rocker also has an enormous effect on how much the bow dives, as well as the kayak's length. Most commercially made boats have more rocker at the bow than the stern to help with this. Long 18' + boats dive a little more - all things being equal. This is because they (bridge) the wave rather than riding up and down it's sloaps.
Most guides pack their boats with most of the weight in the back for that exact reason.
Most of the videos I've seen with Greenland skin boats all seem the dive under big waves. there's a video by Bruce Lemon on "Making the Biardarka". It shows him in a lake with about a 1 ft sea. The boat was plowing under at it's bow. This dosn't make the boat bad, it's just one characteristic that is showing itself during those particular conditions. I believe a kayak that never put's it's nose in the water is either a tank or has an enormous emount of rocker.
