Cool! I got a little pressure put on me by my sister-in-law today. My wife's parents 50'th wedding anniversary is this summer so we are all meeting somewhere for a vacation together to celebrate. The sis-in-law want's me to bring the kayak and my canoe so I'm gonna have to get a rack system I feel safe enough to travel 300-500 miles with.

My 8 year old daughter is dying to go kayaking, but I won't take her till the weather and water warm up. If she takes to it like I have I may have to buy a double. I'd build one but I wouldn't be able to get it out of my basement 8^). If I end up with a double I may have 2 kayaks and a canoe to haul to vacation. I think that would be too heavy for most rack systems though. My canoe is 85 lbs, Guillemot is another 45…I think a double would be too heavy to add on. Maybe just take the canoe and the double would be a better idea.
