I've got one in my Dagger Sitka, and I use it all the time. It's just the right size to stuff in your lunch or a paddling jacket. Inside, there is a cylindrical rubber pouch the same diameter as the hatch, so it's self-contained. If building one into a wooden boat, you could put in a second bulkhead behind it to provide a little more storage than just the pouch.
