My first boat was S&G, but that was before Nick's book hit the shelves. It was fun and easy (less than 40 hours to finish), and required a minimum of tools. If you have a table saw and router though, or access to them, stripping will build a gorgeous boat. Compared to my Guillemot, my old S&G looks like a collision between a plywood truck and glue store.
