The saran wrap was if you decide to glass the flange first.
Round off the front of the foamcore and insert the top dowel tangentially, so that the resultant nipple points more toward the hull bottom. Then the cables can more easily be routed.
Cut the round of plywood at 3 1/2" diam so you get a 1/4" groove for the cable.
The $64 question is stopping any leakage so experiment w/ longer tubing and more heat shrink if probs.
