Thank you for the responses on Patuxent modifications. Several responses emphasized paddle technique. To me, this is only my opinion, paddle technique is seperate from the hull/waterline design.
No matter how perfect or strong your stroke, you will always be limited(in speed) by the boat you paddle. I spend alot of time working my stroke technique, but I will always lose to the same paddler in a good fiberglass boat, while I paddle my Dagger Magellan.
I want the Patuxent to be the tool that best serves my stroke. Modifying that design in a way that provides additional asset to my speed, to me, is a good thing. If this boat is perfect as is, then I want to keep it that way.
I just wanted feedback and ideas along those lines, which is why I posted to fellow boatbuilders. I've already learned alot from several of the postings and am grateful that this site exists.
Any other expiriments out there?
