Another flush hatch idea

I just had an idea to use the what cabinet makers have used for years to hold on the fake front panel on vanities. If you have ever tried to take off the panel on a vanity you would notice the ball and c clamp that holds the panel tight to the cabinet, it works great for a cabinet but I am not sure if it would work well for a hatch. The first thing I would have to do is make it easier to open than the cabinets, they are hard to get off, and second I would have to have a lip or tag to pop the hatch open. I had an idea of using wire to hold it down but as someone pointed out if the hull flexes it could break the hatch. Tell me what you think. Thanks.
