In his book, "The Complete Book of Sea Kayaking", Derek Hutchinson writes that he tensions his deck lines with "a lorry driver's hitch", (p. 6).

I'm assuming for now this is a particular knot, though I'm also wondering if it isn't a piece of hardware. Anyone out there know for sure?
