So far I am really impressed with Nick's design. I dont think there will be much force on the slider itself, as it is 15" long in my case and thats plenty of area for epoxy to grab. All the bracing force will go into the adjustment line anyway. There will be quite a bit on the support, which I beefed up simply because of the materials on hand. I did my tracks with an H shaped piece of oak, and made the slider piece about 5" long. There is almost no play. I especially like the idea that there will be no tension in the rudder control lines except that generated by the rudder itself. Cant take pix, but after I launch this and give it a try I'll post the results. It's a double, so I have both the brace and the rudder control.
