I've gotten hold of some 1/8" thick minicell (in black) with adhesive backing. It went over the semi-smooth surface of the carved-out minicell pretty well, but I can't attest yet to its wearing properties. I imagine it will scar and scratch up; it's a cosmetic surface, I think, but it looks a little better.
