Hello, in answer to your question about passing plywood through a thickness planer the answer is no the planer will just make a mess of the plywood, however, if you wanted you could pass the plywood through an abrasive planer which is basically a large stationary belt sander. Most cabinet shops have one and can perform the task for you. As for your question as to wether to use the 4mm or laminate your own I really think that you would be better off with the 4mm okume.
