It worked pretty well (but slow!) until I got to the point that the clamps wouldn't fit into the opening. A little extra care had to be taken to keep the strips against the forms.

When the hole got too small for the clamps to fit, I used tape (painters and strapping) and cedar strips as a clamp/level combo.
