In Fo'c's'le sections of a past WoodenBoat Magazine ( I'll have to dig for the issue # ) is was mentioned that some of the first S&G boats now suffer cracks and delamination of the taped seams, not from use, but for the road vibrations setup by car topping!
The same article also mentioned the S&G has now become the most prominent form of wooden boat contruction.
