you don't want to make the air so cold that the epoxy won't cure. I try to heat the room up hot before starting and then turn down the heat. The temperature does not need to fall a lot. Constant temp would probably work as well as falling, but it is easier to make the room cooler than it is to keep the temperature constant.
The goal is to have the air trapped in the wood contract instead of expanding.
