Hey all, Lots of talk about blush lately and here's some more. I'm building a CLC kit in my unheated garage out here in the Seattle area. So I ordered the Cool Cure version of the MAS epoxy spec'd with CLC kits.
CLC advertises that they use MAS epoxy becuase it doesn't blush, however my Cool Cure seems to always blush. I'm wondering if what I'm seeing is really blush or maybe some other problem.
Basically the surface of the epoxy remains tacky, no matter how long after application. I took a break from building over Christmas-time, about a month. This surface tackiness never went away. I emailed CLC and they said it was probably blush. I washed the boat with soap and water and it cleans right up, it's nice and smooth and no tackiness after I wash it.
The only thing that troubles me is that this blush doesn't really match the description of blush that I have read elsewhere, that description making it seem more like a waxy surface. Do other builders have this same experience with MAS Cool Cure?
Thanks, -Roger
