Hi Brian,
I think it should cure just fine, just probably not in the 7 days mentioned on the tube. The tube instructions say the contents should be used within the first 24 to 48 hours after puncturing the metal seal, so I suspect this stuff begins to cure as soon as it gets any exposure to air.
On my bulkheads, I could only spritz the bead I put on the outside. Where I shoved the tube between the foam and the sides of the kayak probably stayed sticky for much longer. I was only wanting to speed up the cure of what I could touch (or get on me while finishing up the kayak).
Some of the others may have better advice.
