Weather stripping

What brand of weather stripping do you folks with flush cut hatches prefer?

I started with Frost King "P-shaped" weather stripping. This was a hollow neoprene tube. The sticky side just would not hold up. After only 8 trips in the kayak it was peeling off.

The next experiment is also Frost King, but this is a retangular weatherstrip, 3/8" wide by 5/16 thick. This was MUCH stickier, and made sealing the "ramp" section like in Nick's book very easy. This looked like it might be a little too thick at first, but after being compressed under the bungee for 24 hours looks just right. It also appears to be making a very good seal. So good I had to put a little corn starch on the seal to keep it from sticking to the hatch.

Any other suggestions/secrets?
