Probably not!
I stripped the 1" of the vinyl off each end. I coated the bare cable with thickened epoxy, and then filled the hole with more thickened epoxy and stuffed the cable in the hole. The epoxy wicked into the cable, and I'm sure the deckbeam would break before the cable came loose.
