If I was looking for someone to build me a homebuilt aircraft I would choose George, no question.If I was needing someone to build me a boat,I would still ask George.I certainly appreciate his standard and his quality of worksmanship. Since there are no legal standards nor inspections that are required to build Kayaks the level of compromise is really hard to accurately measure.What is deemed acceptable by a few is seen as shotty by another.How safe is safe and who determines what is and is not? Face it as builders it doesn't take long to figure out short cuts.It's one thing to compromise here and there when you are building a boat for yourself, but when you build for someone else, its now their safety that is at risk. How does one know if the builders standards are acceptable? What is the measuring stick that we are to use as a pattern for quality ? There is mixed opinions on a vast number of issues ,as this bb well demonstrates.I am glad that there are still some people who are willing to go that extra mile, even though it is usually at their own expense.And I think George builds not only for himself but for others as well.Don't get me wrong,Im not saying that using old epoxy will deem a craft unsafe.Im just glad that there are people out there who are willing to take the flack for disagreeing with the status quo,especially when it is so subjective.
