Buzzy, i laminated some 1/8" yellow cedar to 1/4" ,marine ply to make the transomes on my pram project. It worked Ok but required allot of sanding to get the exposed surface fair. I'm playing around right now with something not quite the same. I'm making panels out of cedar strips ( made flat on long straight surface). I'm then glassing them and cutting out my patterns ( in this case seats) from the panels. I'm thinking you could easily make a similar thin panel, and use it/ install it the same as a piece of ply. As long as you don't go too thick (i.e. over 1/4") or have to much crown to your deck it should work/bend to shape fine. HTH Dave
