That sounds like foot entrapment waiting to happen. It also sounds like the user of that pump might want to pack a couple of extra bottles of ibuprofen --- the calf and leg muscles aren't going to like the pulling part; the pushing part's a whole lot easier.

With regard to the bungee business, it sounds awfully complicated, as well as another potential foot entrapment device. I've used spring powered foot pumps for a long time, and they're simple as dirt. (<Making one was a bit harder, 'cause it took a lot of looking to find the right spring. And I never did.) With the Guzzler's availability and price, I'd be really tempted to just go with that. (If I hadn't just bought the Henderson Chimp, anyway.)
