If you are making your own strips it doesn't matter too much what the radius is. If you are trying to match strips that someone else has made then you should measure the shape to see what radius you have to match. Otherwise, a larger radius (like 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2 inch radius) will simply make a shallower flute, and a bead that is not quite so pronounced -- giving you a bit less sawdust and a bit more wood on each strip.
The only important thing here is that the radius of the flute should be the same as the radius of the bead, so they fit well.
