I am going to be ripping my strips for "The Return" (Redfish Kayaks) soon and was wondering if anyone has had any problems using 3/16" strips instead of 1/4" strips to save weight. I built the Georgian Bay a few years ago with 3/16" strips and it has held up very well. On the other hand it seems everyone else out there uses 1/4". Any thoughts would be appreciated.
