> Jon Allen A couple issues you may not be aware with Atlantic white cedar. It is usually sold with a 'live' edge which means the bark is still on the edge of the board. The stock also has a taper from one end to the other due to the shape of the tree. I used this wood for a strip built kayak and have been very happy with it so far. It's been a while since I milled it into strips but I don't remember it having many knots. I'd use it again without any second thoughts. By the way, it darkens quite a bit when you apply the epoxy.
