try using cab-o-sil (fumed silica) to thicken the epoxy and add enough wood flour to color it. cab-o-sil is a thixotropic thickener, which basically means it wont run. cant answer the foam question other than to guess that its air from the wood. perhaps the finer the wood flour the less air trapped in the mixture?
