Hi Peter, I've had two Chesapeake 17s hanging in my garage for little over a year. I haven't noticed any deformation whatsoever. The cool thing about wooden boats is not only that they are stiffer and more resistant to deformation, they are also lighter than plastic boats and place less stress on themselves while hanging.

My friend has been storing his Aquaterra Chinook NW in the rafters next to the Chesapeakes. Before it starts getting warm out, we're going to have to put a sling around the middle of the boat for some more support; as I know it will deform when it hits 80-90*.

The best place to store your boat is somewhere accessible--that way you are more inclined to take it out and use it!
