Get lots of clamps. When glueing the spacers and the rim to the deck all at one time 20-30 clamps would not be too many. You might get by with less if you can glue up one layer of spacer, let it harden and then glue up the next layer.
Clean up epoxy that oozes out before it hardens.
Carefully used, a portable belt sander is a great help in cleaning up the inside of the finished coaming.
