I would consider changing the coaming shape, if you are working from plans, and if CLC is still using the same shape from the Cape Charles.
The CC shape was developed by drawing lines tangent to two circles. the problem I had is with the straight lines. Mine bowed in slightly, making for poor spray skirt retention on the sides. Even if straight, the bungees are not appling any inward force along those straight sides. I would like to have some curve there, making the cockpit look more egg shaped.
Don't be too concerned, though. I've never had the sprayskirt actually fall off at a bad time, and I exaggerated the problem by extending the length of the cockpit. If you are working from a kit or already have the pieces cut, don't go to the bother of making new ones.
