This sounds like your first stripper. Spend the extra to get the solid (one piece) wood. When you're finally done, the savings will be forgotton and you'll be irrataded with yourself for using the finger jointed wood. Believe me, you'll put a lot of work into the project. Don't do it. It's not worth it. Your stripper will be around for a long, long time.
