If during the stripping operation you run duct tape on the unglued edge of one sheer strip before stripping the other side, you don't have to fuss with wax paper and a putty knife. Epoxy won't stick to the shiny side, and tape won't get in your way like wax paper does. You can stick it down so the glass drapes over the sheer without gaps and bubbles, and if necessay you can tape additional masking to the shiny side of the tape.
