Not hoping to get rich, but to get away from the computer screen I've been sitting in front of for too many years. My goal for getting rich is my wife. (I only need to convince her of this plan.) Where I live, La Crosse Wi on the Mississippi River, I think that canoeing would be more viable. Lots of smaller rivers that are great for canoeing. Not having kayaked before, I am hoping that a kayak will work well on the Missippi. Quite a bit of open water, back water, and lots of islands for camping on. If kayaks did work good in this type of water, I could see the potential for there use here. I think that if a person were boating for a living, vacations time would probably shift to other things. Hopefully I'll find some time this summer to built a kayak or two and see how they work. If I like them and like building them, I may look into something like this in the future.
