I've finished the cockpit recess on my Guillemot, and I have a plan for the sequence of building the rest, but I'd like to hear from others about pros/cons.
Although Nick's book has the vertical strips going on next, it seems to me that glassing the deck and recess first would be the easiest way to get a wrinkle-free layer of cloth on the deck. I thought I would do the vertical part of the coaming after the inside and outside have been glassed and use strips of bias-cut cloth. The only downside I see is that the glass that will be applied to the vertical sections will only get a mechanical bond to the glass on the surface of the recess. But otherwise, it seems like the easiest way. Any comments?
