> craig,by now you've probably finished the boat, but here goes. I've been rounding off the chine to the middle layer. Just for the hech of it make a few test pieces, rectangles of plywood glued like the chine of your boat, and gladded appropriately. Now go beat them up and stand on them. I think the depth of the fillet and nature of the glass on both sides has a lot to do with the strength of the joint, possibly a little more than .5mm-1mm of plywood contact. one of the interesting things I noted in my back yard testing was that joint failures occurred at the edge of the fillet,1 1/2 tape accentuated the stress riser. My first boat was a Patuxent that I rounded down to the fillet! and glassed over the outside with 6oz.and 9oz. tape with two layers of 9oz tape on the inside as recommended. funny thing, the boat was heavy.
