A guy who worked with me had the same problem. His solution was to get X-large unpowdered latex gloves and wear them over thin cotton work gloves. I have also seen glove liners used in clean rooms at computer chip plants. These are thin stretchy synthetic and moisture-absorbant, but they have no fingers. Dexterity is excellent in these, but they may not provide enough protection in your case. I would also try Arretil or some other barrier cream in addition to the gloves and see if that helps. Only as a last resort would I recommend going gloveless.

Maybe if you want to build your own boat, you have to choose your poison?
