Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think the scotish method has some merit if for no other reason it would allow modification. I think wider wheels might be in order since my primary problem is getting the kayaks up from a river beach area across soft sand. I was looking at some toy bikes...remember the Big Wheel toys of a few years ago? the plastic wheels used on kids toy bikes are wide and light and might work well for this sand problem. Bob
