I use the scotch-bite and paint-thinner method. I don't think it is fun, but it does work with a little effort. Go over all the residue with a very wet (with paint thinner) cloth first. Just to let it start working, then come back with the scotch-brite and scrub the residue. The scotch-brite should also be wet with paint thinner.
