I have talked to both Chris at CLC and John at Pygmy and both are pursuing the imagine-boats matter vigorously. The same names have appeared in relation to the CLC protest and imagine-boats. Who ever created the imagine-boats domain does not match the information posted with InterNIC. Someone seems to be trying to not leave any tracks. Police believe they know who it is, however at this time what he is doing is not criminal. Whether it is copyright or trademark infringement is an open question, but those are not criminal.

Last week the imagine-boats site advertised that if you called a phone number (not CLC's) and gave a credit card number, you could buy a boat. The boats pictured were made by CLC. Since CLC had nothing to do with this, there is no way you could receive the boats pictured. If whoever was doing this accepted money, and did not deliver what was advertised ("The World's Most Popular Sea Kayak, over 5,000 sold" to paraphrase the site), that could be criminal.

There is nothing to suggest Pygmy has anything to do with this. CLC and Pygmy, despite their differences, are working together to stop whoever is responsible.
