I think a key concept about our laws in general is that they are designed to provide a better environment for all of us to live and work in. Our laws help the majority of our society live in a harmonius manner.
In the matter of the pirated web sites, it will be in the hands of our courts to decide if any laws were broken. But regardless of what the courts may decide it is entirely appropriate for this bulletin board community to expess opinions about about the pirating of web sites. And should the courts not find reason to punish those responsible, it is appropriate for the majority to take action, through changes in the law, to prevent actions they deem inappropriate from being repeated.
The right to free speech doesn't allow you to hurt other people, but it certainly does allow you to speak up when you think they are wrong.
