I have used System Three for the last 5 boats and I always do the wetout with the clear coat and then fill the weave with the regular. I have had no problems at all. I don't do a sealer coat (I've tried it and noticed no difference except that it added another sanding operation before I could wet-out).

I use 6oz cloth (that I also buy from System Three) I have hit a few rocks and it stood up pretty well with just scratches to fix. Hope this helps...
